- This smells so good. It might be considered invasive though some pollinators love it. My Mom made a tea of it for me back in the 80s when I had a sinus headache. I collected some for a salve. It can be infused in oil and added to plantain and chickweed infused oils for a healing salve. I can't vouch for its usefulness, but I haven't found it to do any harm. I also read that ground ivy might help with hip pain and sciatica. The verdict is out on that too, but it certainly is soothing, rubbing any salve into sore joints. The massage is probably what helps. I like dandelion salve for that, but the dandelions are scarce on my Tanner property, or out of season, so I tried ground ivy.
